بدأ الكمبيوتر يتطور يوما بعد يوم حيث مر بمراحل منها اختراع الالماني زوس أول حاسوب قادر على البرمجة. وبعد ذلك تم اختراع الحاسوب الكهربائي على يد رجل يدعى اتاناسوف، ولكن هذا الجهاز كان غير قابل للبرمجة. أما فلاورز فقد طور حاسوب كهربائي وقابل للبرمجة وكان يستخدم في فك الشفرات الحربية في جيش ألمانيا. وفي عام 1976م اطلق ستيف جوبز حاسوب مطور. ثم انتجت شركة بي إم حاسوب يعمل بنظام تشغيل مايكوسوفت. وبعد ذلك تطور هذا الجهاز حتى وصل لما نراه اليوم.
